Mr. Winnie grew up in Taylor, Michigan. He attended the University of Michigan where he earned a B.A. in American History (2013) with a minor in Musicology. After completing his undergraduate studies, Mr. Winnie spent just under two years as a congressional staffer, first for Congressman John Dingell, and then for Congresswoman Debbie Dingell.

Mr. Winnie earned his J.D. from Wayne State University Law School (2018), where he was a Governor’s Scholar and graduated cum laude. During law school, he spent two years as a law clerk in the Office of General Counsel for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, and one summer as a student associate with Ford Motor Company’s Office of General Counsel. Mr. Winnie also participated in Wayne Law’s Jessup International Moot Court Competition, where he developed briefs and oral arguments on state liability for wrongful acts, transboundary water rights, international humanitarian law, and interpretation of Security Council resolutions. In 2018, Mr. Winnie helped lead the Wayne Law team to the top 16 in the world in Washington D.C.

Since joining the Seabolt Law Firm in November of 2018, Mr. Winnie has gained significant experience litigating disputes concerning supply contracts, breaches of fiduciary duties in both the corporate and LLC contexts, shareholder/member oppression in both the corporate and LLC contexts, and fraud. Mr. Winnie also has significant experience drafting and responding to pleadings, motions, and discovery requests, and has participated in several mediations.

Mr. Winnie is admitted to practice law in Michigan state courts and the Federal Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
